KADINLARIN GÜÇLENDİRİLMESİ ÖLÇEĞİ'NİN TÜRKÇE GEÇERLİLİK VE GÜVENİLİRLİK ÇALIŞMASI: MANİSA ÖRNEĞİ

Bu çalışmanın amacı, kadınların toplumsal cinsiyet rollerinden kaynaklanan ve toplumsal yaşama katılmalarını engelleyen güç ilişkilerini ve dolayısıyla kadının güçlendirilmesi gereken alanları görünür kılacak bir aracı Türkçe'ye uyarlamaktır.Çalışmada, Amerika Kalkınma Kuruluşu'nun (USAID) Değişim İçin İletişim Projesi (CChange) kapsamında derlediği ve araştırmacılartarafından Türkçe geçerlilik güvenilirlikçalışması yapılmış yedi adet toplumsalcinsiyet ölçeğinden biri olan KadınınGüçlendirilmesi Ölçeği'ne ilişkin bulgularpaylaşılmaktadır. Çalışma evrenini, Manisakent merkezinde yaşayan küme örneklemeyöntemi ile seçilmiş 479 kadın oluşturmaktadır.Kadınların Güçlendirilmesi Ölçeği'nin(Women's Empowerment Scale - WES) içtutarlılık katsayısının (0,663) ve doğrulayıcıfaktör analizi uyum indeksi özet ölçütlerininyeterli, sosyodemografik farklılıkları ayırdediciözellikte olduğu belirlenmiştir.Araştırmanınsonuçları, ölçeğin Türkçe formunungeçerli ve güvenilir, bu nedenle sosyal hizmetalanında da kullanılabilir nitelikte olduğunugöstermektedir.

Turkish Reliability and Validity Studies of the Empowerment of Women Scale: A Manisa Sample

The aim of this study was to develop a tool in Turkish in order to make the power relations visible which were arisen from women gender roles that prevent their participation to public life. Therefore, the main aim was to reveal the fields that women need to be empowered.In this study, compiled within the scope of American Development Agency's(USAID) Communication for Change Project (C-Change), results of Women Empowerment Scale that is one of the seventh gender scales that Turkish validity and reliability study conducted by researchers, was shared. The population of the study consisted of 479 women selected by cluster sampling method living in the Manisa City Center. Women Empowerment Scale (WES), internal consistency coefficient (0.663) and confirmatory factor analysis of the fit indices summary measure, and socio-demographic differences were determined to be the non- groups properties. The result of the study shows that the Turkish version of the scale was valid and reliable, therefore, suggested that it was also usable in social work field.
