Doğuşundan Hellenistik Döneme değin Hellen Polis'inin kavramsal boyutları

Antik Hellen dünyasının başlıca politik birimi olarak öne çıkan polis, doğuşundan siyasi niteliğini kaybettiği Hellenistik Döneme dek yaşanan tarihsel süreçler içerisinde siyasi ve dolayısıyla kavramsal olarak evrilerek Roma Dönemine dek varlığını sürdürmüştür. Kaynaklar incelendiğinde, böylesine uzun bir tarihsel dönem içerisinde varlığını devam ettirebilmiş siyasi bir oluşum için tek ve genel geçer bir tanımlama yapmak mümkün görünmemektedir. Buradan hareketle, çalışma konusu olan polis, siyasi ve kavramsal olarak farklı boyutlarda ele alınacak; bu yolla polis'in tanımlanması ve değerlendirilmesi üzerine var olan Klasik Atina ya da Sparta odaklı çalışmalar farklı yaklaşımlarla, daha geniş bir çerçeve içinde sunulacaktır

The Conceptual Dimensions of the Greek Polis Until the Dawn of the Hellenistic Period

As the main political organization of the Ancient Greek world, polis has evolved politically and thereby conceptually through 8. B.C. to the Roman times. When the ancient sources are examined it is not possible to give a unique and general expression for such a long term political organization. From this point of view, in this study ancient polis will be examined politically and conceptually in different dimensions; and by this way the studies on the polis focused especially Athenian and Spartan polis will be presented with different approaches in a broader context
