Lower Extremity Strength Balance in Soccer

The aim of this study was to determine the muscularstrength and functional strength asymmetries(Hamstring (Hms):Quadriceps (Qua), dominantleg (DL) Qua:non-dominant leg (NDL) Qua and DLHms:NDL Hms) of professional soccer players (n=32, age=24,4??3,83 years, height=181,3??5,99 cm,weight=78,1??5,85 kg, bmi=23,71??1,02) who will jointhe pre-season training period by using the isokinetictests at 60º/s and 180º/s speeds. The Humac NormTesting & Rehabilitation System (Humac Manufacturers,Stoughton, MA, USA) was used to determine theDL and NDL peak torque. Descriptive statistics wereused for evaluations. NDL Qua peak torque valuesaccording to DL Qua peak torque values at speedof 60º/s and 180º/s, DL Hms peak torque values accordingto NDL Hms peak torque values at speed of60º/s and NDL Hms peak torque values according toDL Hms peak torque values at speed of 180º/s werehigher, but these values took place in the expected ??10% percentiles. DL Hms: Qua differences accordingto NDL Hms: Qua differences were determined higherat speed of 60º/s and180º/s but also these valuestook place in the expected 2:3 ratio. Obtained peaktorque values in this study were lower according toobtained peak torque values in literature but therewere any muscle strength and functional musclestrength asymmetries according to obtained values.Geliş tarihi:As a consequence, it is necessary preparing a wellplannedend-season program to develop the lower peaktorque Qua and Hms values of soccer players.
