Sporda emeklilik olgusu ve emeklilik uyum modelleri

Sporu mesleki kariyer olarak tercih eden bireyler, genellikle yeni davranışlar ve yetenekler öğrenme ihtiyacı görmemektedir. Bu nedenle, erken yaşta profesyonel sporu bıraktıktan sonra emeklilik sürecine daha az hazır olmaktadır. Profesyonel sporcuların, gönüllü ya da gönülsüz olarak emekliliğe geçiş süreci zor ve travmatik bir durum halini almaktadır. Profesyonel sporcular, bu süreçte ağır psikolojik zorluklarla başa çıkmak için bir takım yöntemler kullanmaktadırlar. Bu çalışmanın amacı, sporcuların; sporu bırakma öncesi, bırakma esnası ve sonrasında yaşadıkları zorlukları ortaya koymaktır. Ayrıca, çalışma ile spor bilimleri literatürüne yazılı bir kaynak kazandırılması da amaçlanmaktadır. Çalışma, literatür taramaya dayalıdır. Sonuç olarak, sporu bırakma öncesi, esnası ve sonrasında sporcuların oldukça zor bir süreç geçirdikleri ve sporda emeklilik sonrası, hayatlarını düzene sokmada yardıma ihtiyaç duydukları söylenebilir.

Retirement in sports and retirement adaptation models

Individuals, who choose the sport as a professional career, usually don’t need to learn any new behaviors or skills. So, they get ready to retirement process weakly while leave the professional sport in early ages. Voluntarily or not, professional athletes’ retirement processes become hard and traumatic case. In this process, professional athletes use some methods for dealing hard psychological difficulties. The aim of this study was to determine the athletes’ difficulties in previous, during and post retirement times. Also it was aimed to gain a written document to sport sciences literature with this study. Study was based on literature searching. As a result, it could be said that athletes have difficult times in previous, during and post retirement process, also after the retirement, they need help to fix up their lives.
