Yeterli ve dengeli bir diyet organizmanın gereksinimi olan elzem besin ögelerini karşılamaktadır. Ancak herhangi bir nedenden dolayı vitamin ve mineral suplemanları kullanımı özellikle genç yetişkinler arasında giderek yaygınlaşmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, bir grup üniversite öğrencisinin vitaminmineral kullanım durumlarını değerlendirmektir. Kesitsel tipteki bu araştırma, Gazi Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi'nde okuyan ve gönüllü olan 526 erkek ve 640 kız toplam 1166 üniversite öğrenci üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Öğrencilere ilişkin genel bilgilerin öğrenilmesi ve vitamin-mineral suplemanı kullanım durumlarının değerlendirilmesi için soru formu bireylerin doğrudan kendilerine uygulanmıştır. USE OF VITAMIN AND MINERAL SUPPLEMENTS AMONG A GROUP OF TURKISH UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

There is general agreement among health professionals that a adequated and balanced diet provides most persons with those nutrients essential for good health. Vitamin and mineral supplements are used for any reasons. Vitamin and mineral supplement use is increasingly common in the young adult. The purpose of this study was to analyze use of vitamin and mineral supplements among a group of Turkish university students. The cross-sectional study was conducted among 1166 volunteer university students (526 boys and 640 girls), and attending Faculty of Education in Gazi University. A self-administered questionnaire containing questions on use of vitamin-mineral supplement, and personal information was completed.
