Miniscrews in Orthodontics
Implants which are used practically and reliably for dental treatments in dentistry have begun to be used for skeletal anchors to achieve tooth movement in orthodontics. Anchorage control is an important requirement in orthodontic treatment of dental and skeletal malocclusions and is achieved by various methods. However, the lack of intraoral dental elements to be used for anchorage or the weak peripheral bone, difficulties in using extraoral appliances for the patient and necessity of cooperation have become an alternative to the mini-screw orthodontic anchorage methods. Mini screws are gaining popularity in clinical practice day by day because of its practicality. The aim of this review is to examine the advantages, disadvantages and the risks of the general features, indications, of the mini screws in orthodontics
