Rozasede yerel metranidazol ve yerel permetrin sağaltım sonuçlarının karşılaştırıldığı bu çalışmaya ardışık olarak başvuran 25 rozaseli hasta alındı. Bunlardan permetrin kullanan ikisinde karşılaşılan yan etkiler nedeniyle sağaltım tamamlanamadı. Bu yüzden sağaltım sonuçları toplam 23 olguda, yan etkiler ise 25 olguda değerlendirilip karşılaştırıldı. Sağaltımı tamamlayan toplam 23 olgunun 13'ünde yerel % 1'lik metranidazol jel, 10'unda ise yerel %5'lik permetrin krem kullanıldı. Olgular sağaltım öncesi ve 12 haftalık sağaltım sonrasında değerlendirildi. Papül ve püstül sayıları, eritem ve telenjiektazi skorları sağaltıma verilen yanıtın kriterleri olarak, kızarıklıkta artış, kuruma-soyulma ve yanma-batma hissi ise yan etkiler olarak değerlendirildi. Her iki sağaltım yöntemi arasında sağaltım etkinliği ve yan etkilerin prevalansı açısından anlamlı bir fark saptanmadı.

The results of the topical metranidazole and permethrin therapies in patients with rosacea were compared in this study. Twenty-five patients with rosacea were enrolled consecutively but two of the subjects who were treated with local permethrin left the therapy because of severe adverse effects. Thirteen patients using 1% metranidazole gel and 10 patients using 5% permethrin cream completed the 12 week therapy period. The efficacy of the therapeutic methods were evaluated by taking the differences of the pre and post therapeutic values of the criteria i.e. the number of papules and pustules and the scores of erythema and telangiectasia into account in a total of 23 subjects. Increasing erythema, burning/itching, and scaling/peeling were evaluated as adverse effects in a total of 25 subjects. Our results indicated that both therapeutic agents treated rosacea effectively, but there was no statistically significant difference between them regarding their therapeutic effects. The prevalence of adverse effects of the groups also were not significantly different.
