$T_1$ glottic carcinoma: Results with radiotherapy and salvage surgery

Two patients with in situ glottic carcinoma and 28 patients with $T_1$ glottic carcinoma treated primarily with radiotherapy having a minimum follow-up time of two years were evaluated. Local control rates for $T_{is}$ and $T_1$ were 100% and 89% respectively, with an ultimate control rate of 93% after salvage surgery for $T_1$j glottic carcinoma. These results are similar to that obtained by other treatment alternatives than radiotherapy, and preservation of good voice makes it the first choice in the authors protocol.
