Mekân ve materyal odaklı mekânsal bakış açısı

Bu çalışmada, mekânsal bakışın ne olduğu; onu oluşturan bileşenler; teorik yaklaşım ve paradigmalara göre şekillenen mekânsal bakış açıları ele alınmıştır. Coğrafi disiplini tanımlayan en önemli unsur mekânsal bakıştır; çünkü mekânsal bakışın kavranmasıyla coğrafi çalışmalar daha sağlam bir temele oturur. Coğrafyada yaşanan ve yaşanması muhtemel bütün fiziki ve sosyal olgular mekânsal bir odakla ele alınıp incelenmektedir. Bu mekânsal odağı daha iyi analiz edebilmek için teorik çerçevelere, kavramlara ve yaklaşımlara gereksinimimiz vardır. Çalışmada, değişmez bir mekânsal bakış açısının olmadığı vurgulandıktan sonra mekânsal bakışı oluşturan bileşenler ele alınmıştır. Ayrıca materyalitenin (maddenin) mekânsal bakış açısını oluşturma sürecinde daha önceleri yeteri kadar önemsenmediği; ancak materyal olanın sanıldığından çok daha etkin bir şekilde mekânsal süreçlere müdahil olduğu vurgulanmıştır. Teorik çerçevelerle şekillenen mekânsal bakış açıları ele alındıktan sonra sonuç bölümünde materyaliteyi önceleyen; ancak materyaliteden etkilenen sosyal dünyayı gözden kaçırmayan mekânsal bakış açılarına daha fazla ihtiyaç olduğu savunulmuş ve coğrafi disiplin için bu yönde gelişen mekânsal bakış açıları önerilmiştir.

Space and material-oriented spatial perspective

In this study, the definition of spatial perspective; its components; theoretical approaches and spatial perspectives shaped according to paradigms are examined. The most important element that defines the geographical discipline is the spatial perspective and only with the grasp of it geographical studies can have a more solid foundation. All physical and social phenomena experienced and likely to be experienced in geography are handled and analyzed with a spatial focus. In order to better analyze this spatial focus, we need theoretical frameworks, concepts and approaches. In this study, after emphasizing that there is no unchanging spatial perspective, the components of spatial perspective are discussed. In this section, it is revealed that materiality has not been paid attention enough in the process of forming the spatial perspectives; however, It is stressed that the material intervenes in spatial processes in a much more effective way than is commonly assumed. After discussing the spatial perspectives shaped by theoretical frameworks, the conclusion argues that there is a greater need for spatial perspectives that prioritize the materiality without losing sight of the social world that is affected by materiality. Finally, we suggest a materially more sensitive spatial perspective for the geographical discipline.
