MODERN SCIENCE SEARCHING FOR METHODS BETWEEN THEOKETIKE AND POIETIKE

The rise of modern science leans to a lot of breakings such as theoretical, economic, political, historical and geographical realized in the seventeenthcentury. Theoretical breaking means changing the frame through which human being looks into nature has metaphysical, physical and methodical transformation bases. Methodical discussions in seventeenth-century were made in the center of determining the certainty, the source and the purpose of knowledge by weaving through, in Aristotelian sense, theoretical sciences (theoretike) whose aim is to know and productive sciences (poietike; tekhne) whose aim is to produce. This paper aims to describe the mentioned methodical discussions thorough four seventeenth-century figures and tries to determine where modern science stands between classical theoretike and poietike.
