AHLÂKIN EVRİMSEL KÖKENİ, AHLÂKÎ BİLGİ VE AHLÂKÎ REALİZMİ ZAYIFLATABİLİR Mİ?

Ahlâkın evrimsel kökeninin ahlâkî bilgi ve ahlâkî realizmi zayıflattığına ilişkinargümanlar ve bu argümanlara verilen yanıtlar, son on yıl içinde felsefecilerdenbüyük ilgi görmüşlerdir. Bu makale, öncelikle insanda ahlâkın evrimsel kökeni-ne ilişkin sosyobiyoloji ve evrimsel psikoloji alanlarındaki bilimsel çalışmalarısunmaktadır. İkinci olarak, Sharon Street ve Richard Joyce’un 2006 yılında bubilimsel çalışmalara dayanarak ortaya koydukları, ahlâkın evrimsel kökenininahlâkî bilgi ve ahlâkî realizmi zayıflattığı argümanlarını açıklamaktadır. Sonolarak ise Street ve Joyce’un argümanları, çeşitli eleştiriler ışığında değerlen-dirilmektedir.

CAN EVOLUTIONARY ORIGIN OF MORALITY UNDERMINE MORAL KNOWLEDGE AND MORAL REALISM?

Arguments defending that evolutionary origin of morality undermines moral knowledge and moral realism and responses to these arguments, attracted great interest from philosophers in last ten years. This article, firstly presents scientific work done in sociobiology and evolutionary psychology concerning evolutionary origins of human morality. Secondly, explains arguments put forth by Sharon Street and Richard Joyce at 2006, which argues that evolutionary origin of morality undermines moral knowledge and moral realism based on 146 Ferhat Yöney these scientific works. Lastly, Street and Joyce’s arguments are evaluated taking into consideration some criticisms.
