Ulusaşırı şslam ve Milliyetçilik: Bir Sosyal-CoŞrafi Tahayyül Olarak Köln Merkez Camii

Küreselleşme ulusal sınırların ötesinde, geniş sermaye, ürünler, insanlar ve enformasyon akışında kendini gösteren eşi görülmemiş derecede karşılıklı baŞa yol açan bir süreçtir. Küreselleşmenin bir görüngüsü göçmenlerin ve göçmen topluluklarının ulusaşırılaşmasıdır. Göçmenler yalnızca ev sahibi ülke ile deŞil, göçmen-veren topluluklarla da kültürel, sosyal, ekonomik baŞlarını devam ettirerek yeni sosyal uzamlar ve yeni kimlikler oluşturarak ulus devletleri aşmaktadırlar. Bu makale sınır ötesi karşılıklı etkileşimlerin, ilişkilerin ve ulusaşırı dinselliŞin kurumsal niteliklerinin yeni biçimlerini ortaya çıkarmayı hedeflemiştir. Araştırmanın odak noktası Almanya'da ulusaşırı şslami kurumların en büyüklerinden biri olan Diyanet şşleri Türk-şslam BirliŞi (DşTşB)'dir. Bu makalede benimsenen yaklaşım küreselleşme ile baŞlantılı olan ulusaşırı sosyal uzamların ve kimlik politikalarının yanı sıra toplumsal tahayyülleri içermiştir. Çalışma, şslam'ın ulusaşırı bir güç olarak ortaya çıkmasının, devletler ve topluluklar arasında geleneksel coŞrafi ve soysal uzam kavramının ötesinde bir rekabete sebep olduŞunu ve "ulusaşırı milliyetçiliŞin" doŞuşuna yol açtıŞını ortaya koymaktadır

Transnational Islam and Nationalism: Cologne Mosque a5 Social-Geographical Imagination

Globalization is process which entails unprecedented growth in interconnectedness of the world, reflected in the expanded flows of capital, goods, people, and information across national borders. One phenomenon of globalisation is the transnationalisation of migrants and migrant communities. Migrants transcend the nation—states by manifesting and creating social fields and new identities incorporating cultural, social, economic ties not only with the host societies, but also with the migrant—sending communities. Migrants are not bounded by specific cultural and social genres that are constrained by space and locality. This paper intends to explore new forms of cross—border interactions, relations and institutional characteristics of transnational religiosity. The focus of this research is one of the largest transnational Islamic organizations in Germany, The Turkish—Islamic Union for Religious Affairs (DITIB). The research approach adopted in this article includes transnational social spaces related to the processes of globalization and the politics of identity as well as social imagination. The study shows that emergence of Islam as transnational force brings forth competition between states and communities beyond the traditional notion of the geographic and the social space and it leads to the emergence of “transnational nationalism”
