Ulusaşırı islam ve milliyetçilik: Bir sosyal-coşrafi tahayyül olarak Köln merkez camii

Küreselleşme ulusal sınırların ötesinde, geniş sermaye, ürünler, insanlar veenformasyon akışında kendini gösteren eşi görülmemiş derecede karşılıklı bağayol açan bir süreçtir. Küreselleşmenin bir görüngüsü göçmenlerin ve göçmentopluluklarının ulusaşırılaşmasıdır. Göçmenler yalnızca ev sahibi ülke ile değil,göçmen-veren topluluklarla da kültürel, sosyal, ekonomik bağlarını devamettirerek yeni sosyal uzamlar ve yeni kimlikler oluşturarak ulus devletleriaşmaktadırlar. Bu makale sınır ötesi karşılıklı etkileşimlerin, ilişkilerin veulusaşırı dinselliŞin kurumsal niteliklerinin yeni biçimlerini ortaya çıkarmayıhedeflemiştir. Araştırmanın odak noktası Almanyada ulusaşırı şslami kurumlarınen büyüklerinden biri olan Diyanet işleri Türk-islam Birliği (DİTİB)dir. Bumakalede benimsenen yaklaşım küreselleşme ile bağlantılı olan ulusaşırı sosyaluzamların ve kimlik politikalarının yanı sıra toplumsal tahayyülleri içermiştir.Çalışma, islamın ulusaşırı bir güç olarak ortaya çıkmasının, devletler vetopluluklar arasında geleneksel coğrafi ve soysal uzam kavramının ötesinde birrekabete sebep olduğunu ve ulusaşırı milliyetçiliŞin doŞuşuna yol açtığınıortaya koymaktadır.

Transnational islam and Nationalism: Cologne mosque as a social-geographical imagination

Globalization is a process which entails unprecedented growth ininterconnectedness of the world, reflected in the expanded flows of capital,goods, people, and information across national borders. One phenomenon ofglobalisation is the transnationalisation of migrants and migrant communities.Migrants transcend the nation-states by manifesting and creating social fields andnew identities incorporating cultural, social, economic ties not only with the hostsocieties, but also with the migrant-sending communities. Migrants are notbounded by specific cultural and social genres that are constrained by space andlocality. This paper intends to explore new forms of cross-border interactions,relations and institutional characteristics of transnational religiosity. The focus ofthis research is one of the largest transnational Islamic organizations in Germany,The Turkish-Islamic Union for Religious Affairs (DITIB).The research approachadopted in this article includes transnational social spaces related to the processesof globalization and the politics of identity as well as social imagination. Thestudy shows that emergence of Islam as a transnational force brings forth acompetition between states and communities beyond the traditional notion of thegeographic and the social space and it leads to the emergence of a transnationalnationalism
