Effects on metabolism and liver function in geese fed with rations contained different levels of sunflower as origin of essential fatty acids: 1.The investigation of some protein and lipid metabolism parameters in geese fed with rations contained different levels of sunflower oil
In this study, it was aimed to investigate some parameters of protein and lipid metabolism in geese fed with rations containing different levels of sunflower oil. Six weeks old thirty French White chick geese were used in the experiment. Geese were divided into three groups and the first group was the control, the second and the third groups were fed with rations containing 1% and 6% of sunflower oil for 17 weeks, respectively. The average values of albumin were determined 2.1±0.1 in control group. 2.04$\pm$0.1 and 1.79$\pm$0.1 g/dl in experimental groups, respectively. The average uric acid levels were determined 8.4$\pm$0.8 in control group, 6.9$\pm$0.7 and 5.7$\pm$0.4 nig/dl in experimental groups, respectively. The experimental group I showed a significant difference at the levels of albumin and uric acid in compared to control group (p<0.05). BUN levels were obtained 3.1$\pm$0.2 in control group, and 2.0$\pm$0.0 mg/dl in both experimental groups. Compared to control group, the differences between both experimental groups were significant statistically (p<0.05). Serum trigiiserid levels were found 114.6$\pm$11.3 in control group. 181.4$\pm$21.3 and 73.4$\pm$10.9 mg/dl in experimental groups. Difference between the experimental group I and II was found to be statistically significant (p<0.05). Serum cholesterol levels were 155.3$\pm$8.0, 137.1$\pm$15.6 and 141.4$\pm$10.1 mg/dl in control and experimental groups, respectively. The difference between groups was not statistically significant.
