Effects of humate and vegetable extract mixture supplementation to diets on growth performance, some immunity and serum biochemistry parameters in broiler chickens
This study has been conducted to determine the effects of humate and vegetable extract mixture supplementation to diets on body weight, body weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, hot carcass weight and yield, some organ weights, intestinal length, weight and pH, some immunological and blood parameters in broiler chickens. Totally 256 one-day old male broiler (Ross-308) chicks were divided into four treatment groups each of them also divided into four subgroups which contains 16 chicks for each in this trail. The experiment carried out one control and 3 treatments (1.5 g/kg humate supplementation, 0.75 g/kg vegetable extract mixture supplementation and 1.5 g/kg humate plus 0.75 vegetable extract mixture combination supplemented). At the end of trail, supplementation of these feed additives has been showed no statistically significant differences among all the treatment groups for performance and slaughter parameters (P>0.05). There was found only one statistically significant difference among the groups for blood total protein levels (P<0.01). Supplementation of vegetable extract mixture or combination with humate were decreased the levels of total protein in blood. As a result, we concluded that these feed additives had no beneficial effects on broiler performance which fed with high quality and balanced rations and reared out of stress conditions.
