Kendilik algısı ve saldırganlık arasındaki ilişki: Yalnızlığın aracı rolü

Amaç: Bu araştırma kapsamında üniversite öğrencilerinde kendilik algısı ve saldırganlık arasındaki ilişkide yalnızlığın aracı rolü incelenmiştir.Yöntem: Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Türkiye'nin kuzeyinde yer alan bir devlet üniversitesinin farklı fakültelerinde öğrenim görmekte olan 215 kız, 209 erkek toplam 424 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Sosyal Karşılaştırma Ölçeği, Saldırganlık Ölçeği, UCLA Yalnızlık Ölçeği ve Demografik Bilgi Formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın analizleri için SPSS 23.00 istatistik programından yararlanılmıştır.Bulgular: Bu araştırmada değişkenler arasındaki ilişkiler Pearson korelasyon katsayısıyla, ilişkideki aracılık etkisi hiyerarşik regresyon analiziyle ve aracılığın anlamlı olup olmadığı ise Sobel testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma bulguları kendilik algısı ile saldırganlık arasında negatif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki, kendilik algısı ile yalnızlık arasında negatif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki ve saldırganlık ile yalnızlık arasında ise pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki olduğunu göstermektedir. Yapılan hiyerarşik regresyon analizi sonucunda ise, kendilik algısının saldırganlığın %1.2'sini açıkladığı, ikinci aşamada ise kendilik algısı ve yalnızlığın saldırganlığın %8.3'ünü açıkladığı görülmüştür. İkinci aşamada kendilik algısının saldırganlık üzerindeki yordayıcı etkisinin tamamen ortadan kalkması ile yalnızlığın bu ilişkiye tam olarak aracılık ettiği ortaya çıkmaktadır.Sonuç: Yalnızlığın aracı rolünün anlamlı düzeyde olup olmadığını belirlemek amacıyla yapılan Sobel testi sonuçları bu aracılık ilişkisinin istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğunu göstermektedir

Correlation between self-perception and aggressiveness: the mediating role of loneliness

Objective: The mediating role of loneliness in the correlation between self-perception and aggression was examined among university students. Methods: The study group comprised a total of 424 students, 215 female and 209 male, attending different schoold at a state university in Northern Turkey. The data collection tools included the Social Comparison Scale, Aggression Questionnaire, UCLA Loneliness Scale, and Demographic Information Form. SPSS 23.0 for Windows was used for all statistical analyses. Results: A negative significant correlation between self-perception and aggression, a negative significant correlation between self-perception and loneliness, and a positive significant correlation between aggression and loneliness were found. Hierarchical regression analysis results indicated that self-perception accounted for 1.2% of aggression, while in the second stage self-perception and loneliness accounted for 8.3% of aggression. In the second stage with the full removal of the predictive effect of self- perception on aggression, loneliness was revealed to be a full mediator of this correlation. Conclusions:Sobel test results indicated that the mediating role of loneliness was at significant levels in mediating this correlation
