İstanbul’un Uluslararası Finans Merkezleri ile Rekabet Düzeyinin Saptanmasına Yönelik Bir Çalışma

Finans merkezi fon arz ve talebinin karşılaştığı, uluslararası finans merkeziise uluslar arası fon arz ve talebinin karşılaştığı kenttir. Uluslar arası finansalhizmetler pastasından pay alabilmek rekabetçi finans merkezi olmaya bağlıdır.City of London’ın yaptığı araştırmada dünyanın en önemli 10 finans merkezisırasıyla Londra, New York, Singapur, Hong Kong, Zürih, Cenevre, Tokyo,Chicago, Frankfurt ve Sidney olarak belirlenmiştir. MasterCard’ın önemli ticarimerkezler araştırmasında ilk 10 kent sırasıyla Londra, New York, Tokyo,Singapur, Chicago, Hong Kong, Paris, Frankfurt, Seul ve Amsterdam olarakbelirlenmiştir. Bu kentlerden yedi adedi hem finans merkezi ve hem de ticarimerkezdir. MasterCard’ın araştırmasına İstanbul da dahidir. İstanbul 75 kentarasında 64. sırada yer alabilmiştir. Wojcik’in uluslar arası finansal hizmetlerdeülkelerin gelişim düzeyi ile ilgili olarak geliştirdiği ve Türkiye’yi de dahil ettiği üçadet indeks’e göre de Türkiye’nin skorları oldukça düşüktür. İstanbul’un uluslararası finans merkezi olması için çok çaba harcanmalıdır.

A Study on Fixing Competitive Level of Istanbul With International Financial Centres

A financial centre is a city in which demand and supply of funds meets. Aninternational financial centre is a city in which international demand andinternational supply of funds meets. To take advantage of the improvement of international financial services depends on being a competitive financial centre. Aresearch by the City of London shows that the most 10 international financialcentres respectively are London, New York, Singapore, Hong Kong, Zürich,Geneva, Tokyo, Chicago, Frankfurt, and Sidney. Another research by MasterCardshows that the most 10 commercial centres respectively are London, New York,Tokyo, Singapore Chicago, Hong Kong, Paris, Frankfurt, Seul and Amsterdam.Seven cities are placed in both two lists. Istanbul is included the second researchand is sixty fourth of seventy five cities searched. Three indexes prepared byWojcik to fix the improvement levels of international financial services in thecountries included Turkey shows that Turkey has small scores in the index values.So much effort should be fulfilled to do Istanbul an international financial centre.
