Dönüştürücü Liderlik Algısının İş Performansına Etkisinde İçsel Motivasyonun Aracı Rolü

Amaç – Yapılan araştırmalar dönüştürücü liderlik algısının iş performansını artırdığını belgelemektedir. Bununla birlikte tüm araştırmalara rağmen halen araştırmacılar, dönüştürücü liderlik algısının iş performansı üzerindeki etkisinin nasıl ve neden oluştuğu konusunda daha fazla araştırmaya ihtiyaç duyulduğunu belirtilmektedir. Bu çağrılara cevap vermek ve literatüre katkı sağlamak maksadıyla araştırmada dönüştürücü liderlik algısının iş performansına etkisinde içsel motivasyonun aracı rolü araştırılmıştır. Yöntem – Araştırma amaçlarına uygun olarak İstanbul’daki 362 otel çalışanından anket verisi elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler SPSS ve AMOS programları ile analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular – Yapılan analizler dönüştürücü liderlik algısının iş performansı ve içsel motivasyon üzerinde olumlu bir etkisinin olduğunu göstermektedir. İlave olarak dönüştürücü liderlik algısının iş performansına etkisinde içsel motivasyonun aracı rolü olduğu bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır. Tartışma – Araştırma dönüştürücü liderlik algısı ve iş performansına yönelik literatürü genişletmektedir. Ayrıca araştırmada konaklama sektöründeki yöneticilere yönelik yönetimsel önerilerde bulunarak, otel yöneticilerinde farkındalık yaratacağı değerlendirilmektedir.

The Mediating Role of Intrinsic Motivation in The Impact of The Transformational Leadership Perception on Job Performance

Purpose – Studies have documented that the transformational leadership perception improves job performance. However, despite all the research, researchers still state that more research is needed on how and why the transformative leader's effect on job performance occurs. In order to respond to these calls and contribute to the literature, the mediating role of intrinsic motivation in the effect of transformational leadership perception on job performance was investigated in the research Design/methodology/approach –In accordance with the research purposes, survey data were obtained from 362 hotel employees in Istanbul. The obtained data were analyzed with SPSS and AMOS programs. Results – The analyzes show that the transformational leadership perception has a positive effect on job performance and intrinsic motivation. In addition, it has been found that intrinsic motivation has a mediating role in the effect of the transformational leadership perception on job performance. Discussion – The research expands the literature on transformational leadership perception and job performance. In addition, in the research, it is evaluated that it will raise awareness in hotel managers by making managerial suggestions for managers in the hospitality sector.
