Asgari ücretteki yükselmenin ekonomik etkileri analiz edilmiştir. Ücret artış- larının kısa dönem, orta-uzun dönem olarak iki etkisi görülebilir. Kısa dönem etkisi, maliyet artışı, üretim düşüşü, işsizlik artışı, ihracat düşüşü ve enflasyonun yükselişi olarak olumsuz ekonomik etkiler ortaya çıkacaktır. Orta-uzun dönemde ise en önemli ekonomik etkisi, hem asgari ücretin hem de diğer ücretlerdeki artışın etkisiyle ortaya çıkan talep artışının yol açacağı üretim artı- şıdır. Yine asgari ücret yükselmesinin gelir dağılımı üzerinde de hem olumlu hem de olumsuz etkisi bulunmaktadır.

This paper aims to analysis the economic effects of the rise in minimum wage. Wage increases have short and run effects. The short run effect reflects itself as an increase in production cost, unemployment, inflation, while it leads also to a decline in production and export. In the mid to long run, on the other hand, the real economic effect of the minimum wage rise and the minimum wage induced rise in other wages comes through an increase in production as a result of the hike in total demand . Furthermore, minimum wage increases impose both positive and negative effects on income distribution.
