Hamamlar, insanların temizlik ihtiyaçlarını giderdikleri sosyal mekânlardan biridir. Sivil mimarinin temel yapılarından birini teşkil eden tarihî hamamlar, teknolojik yenilikler sayesinde ortaya çıkan alternatif temizlik imkânları sebebiyle toplumsal hayatta geri plâna itilmiş gözükmektedir. Halbuki, kültürel mirasımız olan ve geçmiş dönemlerde büyük bir ihtiyaca cevap veren bu tarihî yapıların, gelecek nesillere sağlıklı bir şekilde aktarılması gerekmektedir.Vakıf bir eser olması düşüncesinden hareketle Çorum Güpür Hamamı gündeme getirilerek, yapının mimarî özellikleri hakkında dikkat çekilmek istenmiştir. Ayrıca, vakfiyesi hakkında bilgiler verilerek buradan elde edilen gelirin toplum hayatına ne şekilde katkı sağladığı, yapıldığı dönem itibariyle insanların sosyal hayatı ve değer yargılarının neler olduğu konusunda da bir takım sonuçlara varılmak istenmiştir.
