MALE-FEMALE EARNINGS DIFFERENTIALS AND THE EXTENT OF WAGE DISCRIMINATION IN PROFESSIONAL OCCUPATIONS

Using data from a Nationa) Science Foundation survey this stüdy measures Che extent of gender discrfrnination in the case of college graduates. To analyze the components of the male-female earnings gap, the standard Oaxaca/Blinder decomposition method and the Couon/Neumark extensions of this method are employed. İn addiüon, the stüdy accounts for the sarnple selectıon bias by using Heckmanls îwo-stage. two-equation procedure.
