Bu araştırmada tütünün, önce ülke, sonra Ege Bölgesi ve bölge illeri açısından ekonomik önemi ortaya konmaktadır. İl ve ilçe düzeyinde tütünün üretim değeri saptanmıştır. Ülke genelinde hangi bölgelerin tütün üretimi açısından önem taşıdığı ve hangi il ve ilçelerin tütün üretim merkezleri olabileceği üzerinde durulumuştur. Son olarak bölgenin tütün ve üretimine ilişkin sorunlarının neler olduğu ve çözümleri konusunda açıklamalar getirilmiştir.

In this research, the economic importance of tobacco in the region and among the cities of the region have been evaluated. The production value of tobacco at county and provience level have been reviewed. The regions having importance from the tobacco production stand point, have been discussed and the counties and proviences which may be tobacco production centers have been evaluated. As a result the problems faced in tobacco production have been reviewed and some proposals to better the system have been given.
