APPROACHES TO C AND D VITAMINS WITH THE IMPORTANCE OF NUTRITION IN PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF COVID-19

The new Koronavirus disease (COVID-19), a variant of the coronavirus, was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization in march 2020. In this disease, the source is those infected with symptomatic/asymptomatic COVID-19 infection. The disease is generally transmitted by droplets. There are studies that healthy and balanced nutrition, physical activity and regular sleep improve the immune system. This is why these are important in COVID-19. With COVID-19 pandemic, research on the benefits of vitamins in prevention and treatment of diseases has increased. The research found that vitamin D may play an important role in strengthening the physical barrier against viruses, stimulating the production of antimicrobial peptides and reducing the production of inflammatory cytococcus. Vitamin C can increase survival rates by contributing to increased immunity response in COVID-19 patients. The purpose of this review is to observe the effect of vitamin C and D on COVID-19 disease and to review the prevention and therapeutic approaches.
