Filibe, Rumeli'de önemli ziraat ve ulaşım imkânları olan yerleşim yerlerinden biridir. Osmanlı Devleti zamanında Topkapı Sarayı'nın pirinç ihtiyacının karşılandığı bu bölge hakkında, vesikalarda çok fazla bilgi bulunmaktadır. Bu belgeler ışığında XVII. yüzyılın ikinci yarısındaki durum ortaya konulmuştur.

Filibe, one of the most important provice. Which has both agricultıre and transportation facilities, is situated in Rumeli. During the Ottoman Empire time, almost all the rice needed Topkapı Palace was provided from this province. There are a lot of documents about this stuation of the province. In connection to this documents, the situation of the 2nd half of the XVII. century has been tried to put forward in this paper.
