Benzo(a)pyrene Uygulanan Ratlarda Antioksidan Vitamin Düzeyleri
Bu çalışmada, benzo(a)pyrene uygulanan ratlarda A vitamini, β-karoten, C vitamini ve E vitaminidüzeylerinin belirlemesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada 40 adet dişi wistar albino rat kullanılmıştır.Ratlar kontrol ve benzo(a)pyren grupları olarak iki eşit gruba ayrılmış, kontrol grubunaintraperitoneal serum fizyolojik uygulanırken, benzo(a)pyren grubuna deri altı tek doz 10.08 mgdozunda benzo(a)pyren uygulanmıştır. On iki hafta sonunda ratlardan kan örnekleri alınarakplazmaları çıkarılmıştır.
Levels of Antioxidant Vitamins in the Rats Exposed to Benzo(a)pyren
The aim of this study was to determine the vitamin A, β-caroten, vitamin C and vitamin E in the rats apply with benzo(a)pyrene. A total of 40 healthy Wistar albino rats were used in this study. These rats were divided into two equal groups as control and benzo(a)pyrene group. The rats in the control group were exposed to one dose isotonic sodium chloride solution via intraperitoneal, and the other group exposed to 10.08 mg benzo(a)pyrene subcutaneously. At the end of twelwe weeks the blood samples were taken from the rats and plasma was separated. Plasma vitamin A, βcaroten, vitamin C and vitamin E levels were determined spectrophotometrically. There was a statistically significant decrease in plasma vitamin A, β-carotene, vitamin C and vitamin E levels in experimental group when compared to control group. As a result, it was concluded that the antioxidant vitamin supplements may be useful in protecting against the intense stress caused by such substances in the organism.
