Determination of dry matter and organic matter degradability of some forages and concentrate feeds with nylon bag technique in sheep and its dry and organic matter digestibility with enzyme technique

This'study was planned to determine organic matter digestibility with in vitro enzyme and in situ methot of ruminant feeds used as widespread. For this aim, 45 feed samples (oat, barley, corn, wheat, lucerne, grass, soybeanmeal, cottonseed meal, sunflower meal; five of each) were used in the study. The dry matter and organic matter digestibilities of feed samples were determined with enzyme technique. The dry matter and organic matter degradabilities of feeds were determined with in situ techcnique. Dry matter and organic matter digestibilities of oat, barley, corn, wheat, lucerne, grass, soybean meal, cottonseed meal, sunflower meal were found to'be 54.00, 60.65, 69.38, 61.39, 44.19, 51.21, 67.26, 55.50 and 61.69 %; 53.48, 59.50, 67.62, 61.28, 43.27, 47.75, 66.95, 54.92 and 58.68 %, respectively. Dry and organic matter degradability in the 24 h incubations of oat, barley, corn, wheat, lucerne, grass, soybean meal, cottonseed meal, sunflower meal (five of each) by nylon bag technique were found to be 72.29, 78.60, 73.66, 79.89, 56.55, 51.30, 68.13, 62.88, 62.70 %; 66.61, 77.78, 64.02, 78.61, 60.85, 59.63, 68.13, 61.80 and 61.87 %, respectively.
