In Vitro Evaluation of Marginal Fit of Different Heat-Pressed All-Ceramic Crown Systems

The aim of this in vitro study was to comparethe marginal fit of 3 different heat-pressed allceramic crown systems Creapress, IPS Empressand Finesse both staining and layering techniquesand porcelain-fused-to-metal restorations PFM utilizing with the silicone replica technique and animage analysis system.A total of 70 crowns were prepared for 7groups n=10 on metal dies, representing the maxillary right central incisor. Measurements of marginal fit were performed at 2 points for each crownusing the silicone replica technique and an imageanalysis system. One-way analysis of variance andpaired t test were used to compare data a=0.05 . The average marginal opening of the testedgroups ranged from 32.4 ± 13.3 to 52.6 ± 14.8 µm.Analysis revealed that there were no significant differences in the mean marginal opening among thegroups p > 0.05 . The marginal fits of crowns arenot influenced by different heat-pressed all-ceramic systems. The marginal openings of all testedgroups were less than the clinically acceptable limitof 120µm. As a result of this study, all heat-pressed allceramic crown systems are reliable regarding themarginal opening
