idantifiye edildi.
Virus hücre yıkımı olmaksızın BHK-21 ve VERO hücre kültürlerinde
üredi.
The first outbreak of bovine ephemeral fever in Turkey
This being the first time, bovine ephemeral fever was diagnosed
in the central, soutih and eastern-south parts of Anatolia in 1985.
This disease was characterized by sudden fever, stiffness,
lameness ,and spontaneous recovery within a few days. The shanp
febrile reaction was accompanied by listlessness, inappetance,
lachrymation, serous oral and nasal disaharges, lameness, joint
pains and general stiffness.
MortaIity rate was less than 2 per cent.
Pathological lesions included serofibrinous polysinovities, polytendovaginitis,
periart'hritis and cellulitis.
A confirmatory diagnosis obtained by demonstrating neutralizinıg
antilbodies in colliV'alescent sera. And al:so we inooulated
blood from viraemic patient into susceptiible cattle. These two
cattle ,slıowed oharacteristic elinical signs of tıhe diısease.
The virus was iısolated from clinically affected cattle by intracereıbral
inceulation of unweaned mice.
Serum neut•raHzation test wa:s carded out by imrnune serum
in mice. The virus was neutralized .by the serum and tıhe virus
was identified serologically.
T.he virus grew witıhout cell destruction in BHK-21 and VERO
cell cultures.
