Denizli’deki 6-7 yaş okul çocuklarında allerjik hastalıklarının prevalansları

Çocuklarda alerjik hastalıklar çok sıktır. Denizlide alerjik hastalıklarının prevalansını gösteren yeterli bir çalısma yoktur. Bu çalısma Denizli’deki allerjik hastalıkların ve semptomlarının prevalanslarını değerlendirmek, Türkiye’deki diğer iller ve diğer ülkelerde yapılan çalısmaların sonuçlarıyla karsılastırmak için yapıldı. Gereç ve Yöntem : Denizli il merkezinde 26 okulda yasları 6-7 olan 3000 çocuğa Türkçe’ye çevrilmis “International Study of Asthma and Allergy in Childhood (ISAAC)” anketi kullanıldı. Anketlerin 2467’si (%82.23) çocukların aileleri tarafından dolduruldu. Bulgular : Hayat boyu hısıltı, doktor tanılı astım, rinit, doktor tanılı allerjik rinit, kasıntılı kızarıklık ve doktor tanılı ekzemanın prevalansları sırasıyla %22.3, %17.3, %33.5, %6.1, %11.3 ve %2.8 olarak bulundu. Sonuç : Bu çalısma Denizli ilinde 6-7 yasındaki okul çocuklarında ISAAC yöntemi ile yapılan ilk prevalans çalısmasıdır. Türkiye’deki allerjik hastalıklarının prevalanslarının yurt içi ve yurt dısı bölgelerle sağlıklı olarak karsılastırılabilmesi için Türkiye’nin diğer illerinde de standart yas grubu ve yöntemlerle yapılacak çalısmalara ihtiyaç vardır.

The prevalences of allergic diseases symptoms among 6-7 yr–old school children in Denizli

Allergic diseases are the most common diseases in childhood. There is not enough data showing the prevalence rate of allergic diseases in Denizli. This study was performed to evaluate the prevalence of allergic diseases symptoms and potential risk factors among 6-7 yr-old school children in Denizli to make comparisons between other city in Turkey and other countries. Materials and Methosd : A total of 3000 children aged 6-7 year in 26 primary schools in Denizli were surveyed using the Turkish translated ISAAC questionnaire. Of the questionnaires 2467 (%82.23) were completed appropriately by parents with an overall response of 82.23%. Results: The prevalances of ever wheezing, doctor-diagnosed asthma, rhinitis, doctor-diagnosed allergic rhinitis, itchy-rash and doctor-diagnosed atopic dermatitis were 22.3%, 17.3%, 33.5%, 6.1%, 11.3% and 2.8%, respectively.Conclusion : This study, the unique epidemiological survey performed among 6-7 yr-old school children in Denizli, Turkey. Further prevalence studies using a standardized methodology for allergic diseases in Turkey are needed to facilitate making comparisons within and between countries
