Eskiden beri Anadolunun kültür, sanat ve ilim merkezlerinden biri olan Erzurum’da birçok devlet adamı, bilgin, sanatkâr, şair ve yazar yetişmiştir. İçlerinde Nef‘î, Mülhemî, Hâzık, İbrahim Hakkı, Zihnî, Ziya Paşa, Sirâcî, İlmî, Lütfî, Nasûhî ve Gâlib gibi Farsça eser veren ve bu dilde şiirler söyleyen şahsiyetler de çıkmıştır. From ancient times the city of Erzurum as one of the cultural centers of artistic and scientific Anatolia has been accepted by many scholars, scientists, writers, poets, artisans have input into existence.
