Niğde Müzesi Sikke Kataloğu, ülkemizde son yıllarda artan numismatik çalışmalara ve özellikle müze koleksiyonlarındaki sikkelerin yayınlanmasına yönelik çalışmalara bir yenisini eklemesi bakımından önemlidir. Ancak bu çalışma, alanında uzman olmayan araştırmacılar tarafından ve maalesef bir uz - man görüşü alınmadan gerçekleştirilmiş olması nedeniyle oldukça vahim hata ve yanlışlar içermektedir. Bu hatalar özellikle kitabın ilk bölümü olan ve Hellenistik Dönem ve Öncesi Sikkeleri başlığını taşıyan bölümde yoğunlaşmaktadır; ki bölümün neredeyse tümü hatalıdır. Kitabın geri kalan bölümlerinde de hatalar görülmekle birlikte bunlar asgari düzeydedir. Bu yazıda, kitabın geneli ve tek tek bölümlerini ama özellikle ilk bölümü, ayrı alt başlıklar halinde ele alarak eksik ve yanlış noktalar üzerinde durulmaktadır. Makaleyle ilgili değerlendirmeler genel olarak , hem bu kitabın yazar(lar)ına hem de numismatikle ilgi- lenen genç araştırmacılara doğru yolu çizmek amacıyla kaleme alınmıştır.

In terms of adding a new publication to the numismatics studies that have increased in our country recent years,Niğde Müzesi Sikke Kataloğu(Coin Catalogue of Niğde Museum) is important especially for publishing coins in museum collections. However, this publication has fatal errors since researchers who are not experts in numismatics and unfortunately without consult any expert opinion conducted it. These errors concentrated in particularly in the first chapter that bear the Hellenistik Dönem ve Öncesi Sikkeleri (Coins of Hellenistic and Prehellenistic Period) (pp. 13-29), which almost entirely inaccurate. However there are some minimal errors in the other chapters. This article discusses the general and individual chapters of the book, but especially the first part, under separate subheadings, and focuses on mistakes and incorrect points. In general, the evaluations about the publication were written in order to draw the right path for both the author (s) of this book and young researchers interested in numismatics..
