Gebelikte aktif ve pasif sigara içiciliğinin maternal serum ve kordon kanı total IgE düzeylerine etkisi

Amaç: Gebelik süresince pasif ya da aktif sigara içiciliğinin anne serum ve bebek kordon kanı IgE düzeylerine etkisinin araştırılması. Gereç ve Yöntem: İzmit Doğumevi'nde üç gruba ayrılan 86 annenin serumları ve bebeklerinin kordon kanında total IgE ölçümü yapıldı. I. grupta sigara içen 29, II. grupta sigara içmeyen 30 ve III. grupta pasif içici 27 anne ve bebeği bulunuyordu. Bulgular: Bu gruplardaki anne serumu total IgE seviyeleri sırası ile 38.4±19.2 IU/mL, 44.3±23.2 IU/mL, 27.2±13.5 IU/mL ve yenidoğan kordon kanı IgE seviyeleri sırası ile 1.2±0.6 IU/mL, 0.7±0.4 IU/mL, 0.5±0.2 IU/mL olarak ölçüldü. Gruplar arasında, anne serumu ve kordon kanı total IgE düzeyleri açısından anlamlı bir farklılık saptanmadı (p>0.05). Sonuç: Gebelikteki sigara içimi bebek kordon kanı IgE düzeyini etkilememektedir.

The effects of active and passive smoking on maternal serum and cord blood IgE levels

Aim: To investigate the effects of active or passive smoking on maternal serum and cord blood IgE levels. Method: In group I there were 29 smoker women and their newborns, in group II there were 30 non-smoker women and their newborns, in group III 27 passive smoker women and their newborns. Results: The serum total IgE levels of women in groups I, II and III were 38.4±19.2 IU/mL, 44.3±23.2 IU/mL, 27.2±13.5 IU/mL respectively. Cord blood IgE levels in group I, II and III were 1.2±0.6 IU/mL, 0.7±0.4 IU/mL, 0.5±0.2 IU/mL, respectively. There were no statistically significant differences in serum IgE levels of women or their newborns in the groups (p>0.05). Conclusion: These results suggest that in utero tobacco exposure does not increase cord blood IgE levels.
