Brown sendromu

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Brown send- romlu olgularda takip süresi içindeki durumlarının irdelenmesidir. Yaşları 10 ay ile 24 yaş arasında de- ğişen 34 olgu çalışmaya alınmıştır. Bütün olgularda kapama testi, prizma ile kayma derecelerinin ölçümü, glob ha- reketleri ve baş eğme testi uygulanmış- tır. Olguların 4 tanesi bilateral Brown, 19'u sağ Brown, 11'i sol Brown olarak bulunmuştur. 7 olguda (%20.58) ambli- yopi saptanmıştır. 6 olguya superior ob- lik kasına tenetomi, iki olguda alt obliğe total miyektomi ve bir olguda silikon bant uygulanmıştır. Brown sendromlu olgularda genelde takibin önemli olduğu, selektif vakalar- da değişik cerrahi tekniklerin uygulan- masının düzeltici etkisinin yararlı olaca- ğı sonucuna varılmıştır.

Brown's syndrome

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the follow-up of Brown's syndrome Design.- Thirty four patients ranging in age between 10 months and 24 years were included in this study. Complete ophthalmological examination were performed. Deviation angle was measured by prism bar. Results.- 4 patients had bilateral, 19 had right Brown's and 11 had left Brown's syndrome.7 of 37 patients (20.58%) had ambliopia. 6 patients underwent superior oblique tenetomy, 2 inferior oblique total myectomy and one patient silicone band expander. Conclusion.- Follow-up is important for Brown's syndrome. Operation is indicated in selective cases for correction.
