SAGİTAL YÖNDE FARKLI İSKELETSEL MALOKLÜZYONA SAHİP BİREYLERİN DİŞ YAŞLARININ İNCELENMESİ Investigation of Dental Age in Subjects with Different Sagittal Skeletal Malocclusions
ÖZETAmaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı sagital yönde farklı iskeletsel maloklüzyonu bulunan çocuk hastagruplarının diş yaşı açısından birbiriyle olan ilişkisini değerlendirmektir.Gereç ve Yöntemler: Bu retrospektif çalışma panoramik ve lateral sefalometrik filmi bulunanyaşları 8 ile 19 arasında değişen 199 pediatrik ortodonti hastası üzerinde yapılmıştır (Sınıf I:76 birey, Sınıf II: 68 birey, Sınıf III: 55 birey). Tüm hastaların diş yaşı Demirjian yöntemine görehesaplanmıştır. İstatistiksel değerlendirmede tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) ve bağımsızörneklem t testi kullanılmıştır.Bulgular: Sagital yönde farklı iskeletsel maloklüzyonlara sahip hastalar kıyaslandığında diş yaşıaçısından herhangi bir farklılığa rastlanmamıştır (P>0.05).Sonuç: Farklı maloklüzyonların genç erişkinlerin diş yaşlarına etkisi olmadığı sonucuna varılmıştır.Bu konuda daha fazla çalışmaya ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır.Anahtar Sözcükler: Diş yaşı; İskeletsel maloklüzyon; Panoramik radyografABSTRACTObjective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between dental maturationand sagittal skeletal growth pattern in children patients with different sagittal skeletalmalocclusions.Material and Methods: A retrospective study was designed on a sample of cephalometric andpanoramic radiographs and taken from paediatric orthodontic patients (Class I: 76 subjects,Class II: 68 subjects, Class III: 55 subjects) aged between 8.00 and 19.00 years. Dental age, according to Demirjian’s dental age assessment method, was analyzed for each panoramicradiographs. Statistical analyses were performed by using the one-way analysis of varianceand independent students t-tests.Results: There was no statistically significant difference in dental age assessment comparedwith different sagittal skeletal malocclusions (P>0.05).Conclusion: It has come to the conclusion that different sagittal malocclusions have no effecton the dental age of adolescents. Further studies are needed about this topic. Keywords: Dental age; Skeletal malocclusion; Panoramic radiograph.
