Our Ambulatory Anesthesia Experience with the Two Pediatric Patients who have Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase Deficiency
Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency is the most common enzymatic disorder in humans and causing hemolytic anemia. It is estimated that about 400 million people are affected by this deficiency. Many drugs used in the perioperative period may cause hemolytic crisis so anesthetic managment of these patients is very crucial. In this article we aimed to present ambulatory anesthesia experiences of two pediatric patients with G6PD deficiency.
