THE EFFECTS OF PGPR APPLICATIONS ON DIFFERENT LIME LEVELS ON SOME AMERICAN GRAPEVINE ROOTSTOCK
Turkey has generally soils with high clay and lime contents, low organic matter content and that partly poorly. Soils containing approximately 20% lime cause many problems as iron chlorosis and lead to plant stress. In recent years, it has been determined that a plant stress can be alleviated by providing biological approaches. One of the applications is bacteria. PGPR have direct and indirect influence on the plant development. In this study, it was aimed to determine the effects of PGPR applications on 5BB, 1103P and 41B in different lime (CaCO₃) levels. The rootstocks were placed to pots including soil: turf: perlite (1:1:1) and then PGPR were applied. CaCO₃ was applied to plant on 0%, 10%, 25% and 40% ratios. Physical (shoot weight, shoot length, average leaf number, leaf area, degree of injurity, ratio of rooting and root weight) and biochemical (degree of membrane injurity, content of chlorophyll, proline, total phenolic compound and mineral matter) analysis were carried out in the plants. As a conclusion, all criteria were affected by CaCO₃ concentrations and injurity symptoms result from CaCO₃ generally reduced with the PGPR treatment.
