A Method for Assessing Relations in Social Sciences: Social Network Analysis

The studies related to the repercussions of social relations and networks on the individual performance and organizational success has been accelerated by 1970s. Social network analysis is one of the methods utilized in these body of research. It is believed that one of the reasons of relatively use of the method in Turkish literature is due to insufficient resources explaining and guiding social network analysis as a method. The sole aim of the study is to introduce social network analysis as a method. This study includes respectively research topics, research limits and identification of target group; data gathering process and research tools in the field study, the measures and concepts used in the data management, common measures and concepts utilized in three different assessment levels that are network level, relations level and actor level in the analysis.
