Although these massmigrations were intended to be blocked throughthe Berlin Wall, which dichotomizes the city ofBerlin, it was not successful and many artists andwriters had to migrate. After identifying thefeatures of the cultural policies in the EastGerman Literature through a historical approach,we aim to reveal in this study how the East-Westproblem, immigration, exile and border issuesare handled and reflected in literary texts.
