Kyme İDÇ Nekropolisi’nden Bir Grup Mezar

İzmir Müzesi Başkanlığınca yürütülen kazı çalışmalarında, İDÇ Liman İşletmelerine ait parseller üze-rinde sondaj ve kurtarma kazıları gerçekleştirilmiştir. Kazısı yapılan arazi, Kyme yerleşimine yaklaşık 1km uzaklıkta, kenti çepeçevre saran nekropolis alanlarından, Kyme’nin güney nekropolisi içerisinde yeralmaktadır. Nekropolis alanında ortaya çıkarılan ve kazısı yapılan tüm mezarlar üst üste gömüden ziya-de, geniş bir alana yayılarak konumlandırılmıştır. Çalışmada on altı mezar değerlendirilmiş, içerisindençıkan buluntularıyla birlikte incelenmiştir. On altı mezarın tümünde inhumasyon geleneği uygulanmışolup, mezarlar plaka kapaklı, çatı kiremidi ve basit tipte yapılmıştır. Bireyler mezarlara dorsal pozis-yonda yatırılmış, on beşi yetişkin, biri çocuk olmak üzere on altı birey belirlenmiştir. Genel olarak mezarbuluntularından elde edilen veriler neticesinde, İDÇ Nekropolünün MÖ 4. ve 2. yüzyıl tarihleri aralığındakullanıldığı belirlenmiştir.

A GROUP of TOMBS FROM IDÇ NECROPOLIS of KYME

Sounding and rescue excavations conducted by Museum of Izmir were implemented on the parcels that belong to İDÇ Port Company. The excavated field that is 1 km away from Kyme settlement, is a part of southern necropolis which surrounded the city of Kyme. All tombs were located by spreading it over a wide area, rather than buried on top of each other. In this paper, sixteen graves were studied together with the findings from the graves. All buried inhumations of sixteen tombs were built as lids, roof tiles, and simple type. Totally sixteen dead persons who were laid down to the graves in the dorsal position, fifteen of them are adults and just one is child. It is determined that the IDC Necropolis was used in the 4th and 2nd century BC as a result of the data obtained from the graves..
