Ege Gübre Kazısı'nda Ele Geçen Amphora Mühürleri

Akdenize açılan bir liman ve deniz ticaret merkezi olan Kyme liman ve sanayi bölgeleri geniş bir alanayayılıyor olmalıydı. Olasılıkla bu sanayi bölgesinin bir uzantısı niteliğinde olan Ege Gübre kazı alanındaHellenistik Döneme ait tabakalarda cok sayıda seramik ele geçmiştir. Bunların içinde altı adet amphorakulbu mühür taşıyor olmaları bakımından önem içermektedir. Sözkonusu mühürler bu tabakaların ta- rihlendirilmesinde rol oynamıştır. Bu mühürlü kulplar, Thasos, Khios, Knidos, Rhodos ve Paros kökenliamphoralara aittirler. Bu mühürler Kymenin bu kentler ile ticari bağlantı içinde olduğunu göstermekte- dir. Ayni zamanda Kymenin Hellenistik Dönemdeki sosyal ve ekonomik durumunu ortaya koymaktadır

AMPHORA SEALS from EGE GÜBRE EXCAVATION

Kyme, a harbour and a naval trade center which opens to Mediterranean Sea, should have had its harbourand industrial zone extended in a very large territory. A large amount of ceramic sherds are recoveredat Hellenistic stratum, in Ege Gubre excavation area, which is probably a prominence of this industrialzone. Among these sherds, there are six pieces of amphora handles with seals. These kind of seals haveplayed crucial role while dating stratigraphy. These sealed handles belong to Thasos, Khios, Knidos,Rhodos and Paros originated amphoras. These seals unfold that Kyme has a commercial connection withthese cities. At the same time, they assert the social and economic state of Kyme, in Hellenistic Period.
