Problems in pediatric lower respiratory tract infections
Lower respiratory tract infections especially acute pneumonia is a common infection in children, capable to causing significant morbidity and mortality. The complications of pneumonia include: necrotizing pneumonia, parapneumonic effusion, empyema, pneumatocele formation, and lung abscess. Recurrent and troubled pneumonia can occur especially in children with neuromusculer disorders, the therapy and monitoring requires special attention. This article focused on the etiology, diagnosis and management of necrotizing pneumonia and lung abscess, as well as evaluating of the pneumonia after aspiration.
