Intraabdominal infections and antibiotic therapy

Intraabdominal infections are characterized by development of exudation in the abdomen via an inşamatory response against to microorganisms or their toxins and substances in the peritoneum. Antibiotic therapy might be the Şrst-line the-rapy in some of intraabdominal infections whereas it can be useful as adjuvant therapy to the surgery.
