Gallstone Ileus: Case Presentation

Gallstone ileus is a rare cause of small bowel obstruction. Two patients aged 64 and 66 presented with abdominal pain, nausea and constipation applied to our hospital and were taken to operation with acute abdomen prediagnosis. In both cases, gallstone ileus was detected intraoperatively and the stone was removed by enterolithotomy. The patients were discharged from the hospital after postoperative care. Finding that lithotomy was enough, any new surgical treatment was not considered during postoperative monitoring. In this case report, we presented the surgical treatment and other treatment choices of gallstone ileus in two patients and discussed the cases with respect to the literature
