BİR BATI NİL ATEŞİ OLGUSU
Batı Nil virusu (BNV), Culex cinsi sivrisinekler ile bulaşan Flaviviridae ailesinde sınıflandırılan bir virustur. Virusa maruziyet %80 asemptomatik infeksiyon ile sonuçlanırken, olguların %20 sinde Batı Nil ateşi adı verilen ateş ile seyreden bir klinik tablo, %1'den az oranda santral sinir sistemi bulguları ve nöroinvazif hastalık gelişmektedir. Hastanemize Eylül 2012'de ateş yüksekliği, yaygın myalji ile başvuran hastada Batı Nil ateşi hastalığı düşünülmüş ve tanı kan örneğinde Batı Nil virüsü nested PCR'ın pozitif, sekans analizinin de uyumlu olması ile doğrulanmıştır.
A WEST NİLE FEVER CASE
West Nile virus (WNV) is a virus belongs to Flaviviridae family and transmitted by Culex species of mosquito. Infection with virus result in %80 of infected individuals are asymptomatic, %20 of individuals are have clinical presentation with fever as termed West Nile fever, less than %1 of individuals have central nervous system finding and neuroinvasive disease. The patient applied to our hospital in September 2012 with fever and widespread myalgia, preliminary diagnosis thought as West Nile fever and confirmed with nested PCR positivity and sequence analysis compatibility.
