Therapeutıchypothermia practice in investive care patients

Therapeutic hypothermia is defined as lowering the body temperature for curative reasons. Recently, especially mild to moderate hypothermia (32-34°C) has been carefully studied to determine its cerebral and metabolic protective and therapeutic effects in intensive care units. In this review, we aim to present the indications, physiological effects and possible complications of therapeutic hypothermia, a new but effective procedure used in intensive care therapy.
