Interaction of rocuronium with propofol-$N_{2}O$ or thiopentone-sevoflurane-$N_{2}O$ anesthesia
Pharmacokinetic properties of rocuronium are evaluted in two groups each consisting of 15 patients scheduled to undergo thiopentone-sevoflurane-N2O or propofol-N2O anesthesia. Hemodynamic alterations during the induction period were examined. Maximal effect of rocuronium is 134±42 sec with thiopentone-sevoflurane-N2O, and it is 134±42 sec with propofol-N2O anesthesia. Duration of action is nearly 40 min in both groups. Spontaneous recovery time is significantly longer with sevoflurane-N2O than propofol-N2O anesthesia (58±15 min 44±10 min). Heart rate declined slightly with propofol-N2O. It is concluded that sevoflurane-N2O anesthesia potentiated the effect of rocuronium much more than propofol-N2O
