Türkiye’deki Geleneksel Akademik Turizm Eğitimi Arama Konferanslarının Analizi

Turizmde bilgi üretimi ihtiyacının artması; mod 1 ve mod 2 bilgi üretiminin paydaşları olan akademi, özel sektör ve politika yapıcılar arasında iş birliğini gerektirmektedir. Bu anlamda arama konferansları, paydaşları bir araya getiren ve önemli mod 2 bilgi üretim platformlarından biri olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, akademi ve özel sektörden seçilen katılımcılarla ortak aklı ortaya koymayı amaçlayan geleneksel Akademik Turizm Eğitimi Arama Konferansları dizilerini analiz etmek ve bilgi üretiminde daha etkin bir rol oynayabilmesine imkân veren öneriler ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma verileri söz konusu konferanslarda farklı sorumluluk alan paydaşlara uygulanan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler ve katılımcı gözlem tekniklerinden faydalanılarak elde edilmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonucunda bilgi üretiminde etkin bir rol oynayabilmesine imkân veren öneriler arasında; konferans etkinliği için devamlı hale gelmesi, çıktıların bütün paydaşlar ile paylaşılması ve konferans sonuçlarının izlenmesi için bir kontrol mekanizmasının geliştirilmesi gerektiği ortaya çıkmıştır.

Analysis of Traditional Academic Tourism Education Search Conferences in Türkiye

Increasing need for knowledge production in tourism; mode 1 and mode 2 require cooperation between the stakeholders of knowledge production, namely academia, the private sector and policy makers. In this sense, search conferences are accepted as one of the important mode 2 knowledge production platforms that bring the stakeholders together. The aim of this study is to analyze the traditional Academic Tourism Education Search Conferences series aiming to reveal common sense with the participants selected from academia and the private sector, and to put forward suggestions that allow it to play a more active role in knowledge production. Research data were obtained by using semi-structured interviews and participant observation techniques applied to stakeholders who took different responsibilities in these search conferences. As a result of the analyzes made, among the suggestions that allow it to play an active role in the production of information; It has emerged that a control mechanism should be developed for the conference event to become continuous, to share the outputs with all stakeholders and to monitor the conference results.
