Psiko-onkoloji ve aile hekimliğinde ruh sağlığını güçlendirme: Sosyal destek algısı ve psikodrama grup terapisi uygulamaları

Amaç: Kanser hastalarında sosyal desteğin yüksek olması ruh sağlığının korunması ve güçlendirilmesi açısından önemlidir. Bu çalışmada psikodrama grup terapisi yönteminin meme kanseri hastalarında algılanan sosyal destek üzerine etkisi incelenmektedir. Yöntem: Meme kanseri hastaları ile 12 hafta boyunca, haftada bir kez ve iki saat sürelpsikodrama grup çalışması yapılmıştır. Gruplarda hastalarla hastalık eğitimi, başa çıkma becerileri, aile işlevlericinsellik gibi önceden belirlenmiş olan konular üzerinde çalışılmıştır. Gruplara başlamadan önce, altıncı haftanın sonunda ve on ikinci haftanın sonunda Çok Boyutlu Algılanan Sosyal Destek ölçeğinden elde edilen sonuçlar karşılaştırılmıştır. Sonuçlar: Psikodrama grup terapisine katılan hastaların hem aileden, hem özel saydıkları kişilerden, hem de arkadaşlarından aldıkları sosyal destek algılarında anlamlı bir artış saptanmıştır. İleri yaştaki hastaların bu yöntemden arkadaşlık desteği açısından daha da çok fayda gördükleri ortaya çıkmıştır. Tartışma: Kanser hastalarında sosyadestek algısının artırılmasında psikodrama etkili bir yöntemdir. Psiko-onkoloji alanında ve birinci basamak tedavhizmetlerinde koruyucu ruh sağlığı çalışmaları planlanırken psikodrama ve grup psikoterapileri önemli bir yöntem olarak yaygınlaştırılmalıdır. Strengthening mental health in psycho-oncology and family practice: perceived social support and psychodrama group psychotherapy

Objective: The increase in social support in cancer patients is important regarding protection of mental health. This research aims to evaluate the effect of psychodrama group therapy on the perceived social support in cancer patients. Methods: Breast cancer patients participated in psychodrama groups for two hours once in a week during 12 weeks period. The groups were preprogrammed to work on different issues such as illness education, coping abilities, family functions, sexuality. The scores of Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support obtained on the beginning of the groups, in the end of the 6th and 12th weeks were compared. Results: The perception of social support either from family, private person and friends significantly increased by psychodrama group therapy. It was seen that the patients with higher ages recorded higher increase in the scores of the friends subscale. Discussion: Psychodrama is an effective method to increase social support perception in cancer patients. It should become widespread as an im- portant method when planning preventive mental health services in psycho-oncology and family practice. (Anatolian Journal of Psychiatry 2012; 13:205-209)
