Determination of Opinions in Gifted and Talented Students about STEM Practices and Algodoo, a STEM Material
In this research, it is aimed to determine the opinions of gifted students about STEM practices and Algodoo, a STEM material. One of the qualitative research methods, case study, is used in the research. The sample group of the research is composed of 15 gifted students(8 male, 7 female) studying in the 7th and 8th grades of secondary school in 2016 – 2017 academic year. In this study, four different STEM activities were carried out within the scope of STEM training program for simple machines and energy conversions. Each activity is planned as 6 lessons.Content analysis is used in the assesment of the research data collected through half-structured interview method. In the direction of content analsis method, interview data is coded and themes are composed. After the analysis, it is understood that the students have positive thought, towards STEM practices and Algodoo use.
