The article describes the innovative development of the food industry in the region, the economic mechanisms of innovation. The innovation activity, the mechanisms of their economic development, the mechanisms of the organizational and economic mechanism of the intensification of the innovation process, the economic mechanisms for the development of innovation in the food industry are considered.
